Stereopticon is coming alive again. Formed in a small town in upstate New York (Elmira) Stereopticon is an rock/improv jam band which focuses on composing and performing their own music. Each member has been playing music in different projects for over 12 years. Stereopticon was originated as a group of musicians (known as Huge Dungles) playing ONLY improv jams at an open mic at a local bar in town. Finally in Oct. 2004 Kevin, Jonny, Dan, and Jesse recognized their strong connection together and decided to to expand their talents of jamming. They soon began writing original songs with a jam theme. Each musician is very well rounded on their individual instrument. Through various combinations they have been playing together for years. They know each other very well both on and off stage. Each member brings different influences and talents to the band, and together they blend in a unique style of music that they are almost creating as they go. In a world crowded with Jam bands Stereopticon offers a very different spin from most. Their sound is quite different and their writing and playing style stands alone in the jam scene today.
